Hence this is my letter:
Song of reommendation: Ai no Katamari
Artist: KinKi Kids

KinKi Kids is a 2 people group in Japan, and I have listened to their songs ever since 2000. Their songs have never failed to capture my heart. Apart from that, at the age of 31, they currently hold a Guinness World Record for having the most consecutive number of singles debut at no. 1 on the Oricon charts. Including their latest single, they currently hold 29 singles debut at No.1, and is still continuing the record. Ai no Katamari is a creation by the both of them, the beautiful lyrics is written by Domoto Tsuyoshi and beautiful melody is composed by Domoto Koichi.

When I very first listened to this song, The melody alone captivated me. Being a non-Japanese, I didn't understand the lyrics. After reading the translation of the lyrics, It became one of my favorite tracks of all time. This song is a message of love from KinKi Kids to their fans, which is why it holds such a deep meaning to us. Moreover, as if by coincidence, the song that was voted No.1 During their 10th anniversary concert, they sung this song for the fans as well. It can be seen at this myspace video link below. I have taken the liberty to translate the lyrics of the song, so that you will be able to understand the song as you listen to it as well. ^^

Even though they are a duo, there are times where they run their solo projects as well, and they would hold solo concerts. Even though they are holding solo concerts, they never once forgot about their partner, which is the other half of their career.

One example would be during Koichi's solo concert, named 1/2 (Half), because it was the first time he held a concert without his partner, so he was very nervous about it. During that time, Tsuyoshi wrote a letter for him, encouraging him, and telling him to believe in him, and also to believe in himself. This is the content of the letter (the translation is right below the original content):

During the performance of the song Ai no Katamari, Koichi flashed words of the letter on the stage before the start of the song, to show that even though he is doing that concert alone, Tsuyoshi is somehow still with him. When the song Ai no Katamari was being sung, the 1st line was sung by Koichi, and when the 2nd line came, which was supposed to be sung by Tsuyoshi, Koichi kept quiet, and made a gesture inviting the fans to sing along. At this point of time, all the fans sang back to him in a clear tune.

With Tsuyoshi's letter, and with the fans singing back at Tsuyoshi's part, I felt was what made this song and this performance so sacred. Because this is the magical moment where I really felt that the hearts of the fans and KinKi Kids are together as one. The performance can be seen at the video below:
